I attended one of the many Tea Parties that were held last Wednesday, April 15. It was a first for me. I have never participated in any political arena before. I have never participated in any protest before. But I was so motivated and so concerned about our country and the direction it is heading that I simply could not sit by and not raise my voice in protest. The Tea Parties were not about President Obama. They were not about Democrats, not about Republicans, not about Bush, Cheney, Pelosi, Reid, Murtha, Turbo Tax Geitner, nor any of the rest. The Tea Parties were about all of them. You know what I mean? We were not there to single out any one of them. We were there to say we do not want our country to be socialist. We do not want to share the wealth. We do not want to pay unjust taxes, we do not want taxation without representation, and we definitely do not want Trillion Dollar Bailouts.

We were all at the Tea Parties to say that we want honesty and integrity in our Congress and Senate, and in our White House. We want to live by the Constitution of the United States. You know, our congressmen and our senators are elected by we the people. Why do they get to Washington D.C. and do as they please instead of representing the will of the people? Why have we allowed them to ignore what we have voted for? The majority of the people have voted to build a fence along the southern border, but it is only partly finished. The majority of us have voted and said we want our immigration laws enforced, but the free flow still goes on. The majority of us (I am NOT included in the majority of this one) have voted against gay marriage, but have been ignored. If the politicians don’t get what they want from us, if we are even given the opportunity to vote, they kick the issue to the courts. This is a country of We The People. I want my country back.
